The FLO DEL Mission

“To Generate A Lifestyle That Embraces 1000 Miles of Smiles”

LISA

Although I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, I grew up in Sussex County in the small town of Laurel, Delaware.  After college, I spent over 25 years working as an educator in the Laurel School District.  In 2015, JJ and I honeymooned on the Gulf of Florida and immediately knew that one day, we wanted to spend more time enjoying the warm, sunny Florida weather. In 2021, our dream came true and we purchased our home in Ellenton, Florida.  I remain a Delaware resident and travel back and forth from Florida to Delaware as my father, children, grandchildren and close friends are Delaware residents.  In 2022, JJ (AKA FLO DEL), nicknamed me “FLO DELLA” and the FLO DEL story began taking shape.  It didn’t take long for the FLO DEL team to begin capitalizing on our unique and individual strengths and our vision to create, celebrate and share 1000 Mile Smiles became a reality. We are incredibly thankful for all of the love and support that our family, friends, and followers have given us as we travel this journey together.

JJ

As a lifelong resident of Sussex County, known as Jay “FLO DEL” King, I retired from Law Enforcement in 2014.  Shortly thereafter, I married Lisa who soon came to be known as FLO DELLA.  In 2021, Lisa and I bought property South of Tampa and North of Sarasota.  As it turned out Sharon (FLO YO) lived a half a beer drive from us.  Of course, the more time we spent together, the more we realized that we all shared commonality for staying hydrated the FLO DEL way.  I enjoy the white, sandy beaches and sunshine of Florida, a balanced hydration system, and spending quality time with our family in Delaware.  I hope the videos create thousands of miles of smiles for our FLO DEL family.

SHARON

While born and spending just a few days in Salisbury, MD, I was raised in and resided in Seaford, DE for over 55 years. I spent 25 of those years as an elementary educator in the Seaford School District. Upon retirement in December 2020, I found my way to the Bradenton/Sarasota, FL  area. Having never lived anywhere else, I soon decided I needed to spread my wings and plant some new seeds. During the first two years, I traveled back and forth to Delaware numerous times, later earning the nickname “FLO YO.”  In June 2022,  paths crossed and I met  JJ and Lisa. We learned that we only lived a few miles from each other not only in DE, but also in FL. It was there that the FLO DEL story began. With all of us being retirees of the State of DE, we sat at more than a few hydration stations, and spoke of our lives, our friends and families that we so dearly love, and the livelihoods we retired from. What you see today is a compilation of those good times, good memories, and tons of smiles and laughter.
